Most airport trains are built for travellers with bags — but a few things are worth knowing before you roll a suitcase onto the platform.
Space and limits
Airport express trains usually have luggage racks or extra standing space. Regular metro lines used as airport links can be tighter at rush hour. Size and weight rules are set by each operator — our city guides note anything unusual.
City check-in
Some cities let you check your bags and collect a boarding pass at the downtown station before you ride (for selected airlines). Where this exists, the relevant train guide says so.
When luggage tips you toward a taxi
With several large suitcases, or as a group of three or four, a taxi door-to-door can be easier and competitive on cost. Weigh it up in airport train vs taxi.
